Dan Oliver

Dan Oliver is a cellist based in the Denver Metro Area. He is currently with the Denver Young Artists Orchestra, one of the nation’s leading youth symphonies. Oliver is a freelancing musician with several years of performing experience and can often be seen playing at promotions, parties, churches, and other events. 
Oliver was the former member/principal cello of the Brevard Concert Orchestra under conductors Keith Lockhart and Ken Lam for their 2016 and 2017 seasons, residing and studying at the Brevard Classical Music Festival.  He previously studied with Franklin Pond Chamber Music in Atlanta, studying under and performing alongside members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.  Formerly a frequent participant in Allstate and Western States Orchestra festivals, Oliver recently finished in the top 3 at the Loveland Concerto competition.
Oliver has studied cello under several prominent musicians, including the following: Silver Ainomäe, Jonathan Spitz, Gal Faganel, Richard Slavich, as well as others. He has performed in masterclasses for David Coucheron, the Shanghai Quartet, Johannes Moser, as well as others. 
In his free time, Dan is an avid hiker, skier, and backpacker. His personal favorite 14er is Longs Peak.
