I attended Berklee School of Music and then earned a BA in Music from the University of Colorado. I’ve also completed all required classes for a MA in music at DU. I have taught guitar for 20 years and have performed in rock, blues, jazz, funk and country bands as well as in studios for commercial projects. These are the styles of music I love to teach! I like to make lessons fun and teach students how to be a great rhythm guitar player as well as lead guitarist by showing them songs that they enjoy while learning theory at the same time. I’ve opened up for or performed on stage with Chuck Berry, the Beach Boys, the Monkees, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Donna Summer and many others. But what I enjoy most is playing guitar with my students and watching them improve and grow as musicians. When my students have a great lesson, it makes my day. My wife and son call me the Breakfast King because I like making them everything from French toast and omelettes to breakfast burritos. I love jamming with my son who is also one of my guitar students! We’ve performed together for several recitals. I've received private guitar instruction by Robben Ford 1976-1977 as well as Jerry Hahn from 1995-1996.
