Hudson Maness is a violist based in Colorado whose playing has taken him across the country, having performed in festivals such as the Montecito International Music Festival in California and the Tanglewood Music Festival in Massachusetts. He has performed orchestrally as Principal Violist in the Western Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra, Continental League Honor Orchestra, Colorado All-State Symphony Orchestra, and BUTI Young Artist Orchestra.
Along with playing in in Seiji Ozawa Hall, the Koussevitzky Music Shed, Boettcher Concert Hall, Monfort Concert Hall, Griffin Concert Hall, Hole Memorial Auditorium, and the PACE Center, he loves playing for weddings, house concerts, retirement homes, and restaurants.
Hudson currently studies with Caroline Paetsch, an alumna of The Juilliard School, and Christopher Luther, Assistant Professor of Viola at the UNC School of Music. He has enjoyed master classes with renowned violists Yizhak Schotten, Dr. Timothy Deighton, Steven Ansell, and cellist Lynn Harrell. Other teachers include Drew Alexander Forde, Mark Berger, Hye Min Choi, Miguel Perez, Hsin-Lin Tsai, and Melinda Lee Masur.
