With over twenty years of experience, Michael’s musical vocabulary extends across many genres. Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Michael’s musical journey began with private instruction on the drum set at the age of twelve. He went on to study with Dr. Michael Sekelski at the University of Central Missouri. While there, Mike focused his efforts on both performance and studio engineering. After receiving a B.A. in Music Technology, Mike relocated to Japan to teach English. While there he continued to study with Scott Latham and became the house drummer at CrossRoads 66 for two years. He has gained experience playing a variety of styles of music: Jazz, Swing, Funk, Latin, Blues, Rock, Hip-Hop,and Reggae. Currently, Mike continues to build upon his skills as a musician and educator while actively performing throughout Colorado.
