Dr. Phil Ficsor

Philip has experience teaching all ages and abilities and finds it a rewarding to help young musicians realize their musical potential. He started learning violin with the Suzuki method when he was four years old and continued with Suzuki until age fourteen. He then moved to Europe, where he studied at a music conservatory in Györ, Hungary from grades 9-11.

Philip holds degrees in violin performance from The University of Michigan (BM), Yale University (MM) and Boston University (DMA). He has released four commercial recordings and from 2006-2013 he was a tenured Associate Professor of Music at Westmont College. Currently he is a performing artist based in the Denver area. He has taught at Valor Christian High School as well as Colorado Christian University and regularly performs with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the Stratus Chamber Orchestra.
Philip is passionate about instilling in his students a love of music and encourages them to extend themselves as musicians and people. He seeks to discover the musical interests of his students and strives to find music they are excited to play. Philip looks forward to meeting you and together discovering new musical horizons.
